Imagine a traveler. wandering through the landscapes of Iceland. mountains, waterfalls, lava fields. collecting unique elements, flavours and melodies of the land and then infusing them in a cusine of latin rhythms. That is what you can expect from the Icelatin band: a tasteful and rich blend of Icelandic folklore and Caribbean grooves!
Under the umbrella of latin jazz and shaped by artists and groups such as Irakere, Tómas R. Einarsson, Led Zeppelin, Alain Pérez, and Iceland’s story telling, you can find inspiration of Icelandic lullabies & folk songs, afro-carribean, changüí, rumba, salsa, and even rock & funk in the musical world of the Icelatin.
In April the Icelatin recorded their debut EP at Studio Konkreet which they will present in full for the first time at Batavierhuis, so join us for an evening full of groovy music and mystical tales from the land of ice and fire, and be the first to hear the music with a chance of getting your physical copy before it goes live on streaming platforms!

Stel je een reiziger voor, dwalend door de adembenemende landschappen van IJsland. Langs bergen, watervallen en lavavelden. Onderweg verzamelt hij unieke elementen, geuren en melodieën van het land, om die vervolgens te vermengen met de vurige ritmes van Latijns-Amerika. Dat is precies wat je kunt verwachten vand de Icelatinband: een smaakvolle en rijke mix van IJslandse folklore en Caribische grooves!
In dezelfde categorie als latin jazz en gevormd door artiesten en groepen zoals Irakere, Tómas R. Einarsson, Led Zeppelin, Alain Pérez, en IJslandse folklore, kun je inspiratie vinden van IJslandse wiegeliedjes en volksliedjes, afro-carribische grooves, changüí, rumba, salsa, en zelfs rock en funk en de muzikale wereld van Icelatin.
In April heeft Icelatin hun debuut EP opgenomen in Studio Konkreet die zij in het geheel voor het eerst zullen presenteren in het Batavierhuis, dus laat je meevoeren in een avond vol groovy muziek en betoverende verhalen uit het land van ijs en vuur, en wees de eerste om de muziek te horen met de kans om een fysieke kopie voor dat het live op streaming platforms staat!
